Dr. Craig Hellquist has been with the St. Paul Veterinary Clinic since 1992, and has owned the practice since 1997 with his wife and fellow graduate, Dr. Anita Hellquist. He enjoys working with the variety of animals that come with mixed practice in a small town. Craig grew up in the neighboring town of Elk Point, and studied agriculture at the U of A before graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the U. of Sask. in 1989.
Craig values mentorship and giving back to the community and the profession, and has mentored many high school students, AHT students and veterinary students over the last 15 years, in the hope of sharing his love of the profession with them. Craig spends as much time as he can with his family of three, and has coached all of them in hockey. In his spare time he can be found reading, camping, or out for a spin on his Harley. If he ever “slows down” he might be in his shop restoring his 1970 Mustang.
